SacramentA sacrament is a rite (of passage), a physical act that uniquely binds us to a deeper spiritual reality. There are many sacraments in the life of faith – more than we imagine at times. At Lookout we celebrate two of these sacraments when we gather as part of our worship.
Baptism
In baptism we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (Romans 6). At Lookout we baptize children (sprinkling) and adults (immersion). If it is the parents’ desire we also dedicate children rather than baptizing them.
Communion
In Communion (The Lord’s Supper), which we celebrate each week in our services, everyone who has received forgiveness through Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection is warmly welcomed to participate. Communion is the body of Christ and his shed blood given specifically for you.
