Crowd Control

CROWD CONTROL

How do you take a crowd of people and bring it down to family size where peoples’ voices can be heard, authentic interactions happen, and somebody can be known?  As you probably guessed, that is why we have a small group ministry.  So are you in a small group?

We are looking for something more than a bunch of people gathered in a bar or a restaurant connected by good conversation.  I believe God is calling us to transformational community – where to be known can only be done by the creator Himself; but He loves to use people in the process.

Last Sunday several small group leaders got together for dinner and training as a part of our summer dinner and training nights.  We played a game trying to move blocks around to look like a certain picture with limited communication as often reflecting our miscommunication in groups.  As the group worked, we saw how different roles stepped up to help facilitate communication and bring the picture together.  That, I believe, is the beauty of a small group.  We have been uniquely created with different giftings to help facilitate this picture of transformational community.
